zhuzh is an accessories brand dedicated to showcasing craftmanship of African artisans and empowering them. Founded in December 2018 by Keesha Morisma, zhuzh emerged from a gap in the fashion industry's storytelling, particularly concerning the narratives of the African diaspora. In styling, "zhuzh" means to make more lively, exciting and attractive. Our mission, therefore, is to give life, stories, and character into wardrobes through vibrant accessories.
When Keesha reached out, zhuzh faced challenges: a lack of visibility and a clear narrative. The brand, born from a vision in 2018 with minimal market research, had produced great products over five years, but its storytelling lacked clarity, conciseness, and an engaging, educational approach. The objective of this rebranding was to craft a distinct visual identity and a cohesive, captivating story. My work involved developing the brand personality and platform, narrative, and tone of voice. I also led the design a strong new logo and its variations, along with all the necessary brand assets and collaterals.

Working with Sabine on the rebranding of zhuzh has been decisive. Faced with a lack of visibility and clear storytelling, she brilliantly redefined our brand. Sabine (with Patrick's support) created a strong visual identity and a coherent narrative, while guiding me on the launch strategy for brand reveal and our new collection. Her expertise breathed new life into zhuzh, enabling us to better tell the story of our artisans. An essential collaboration for our success.
